As CASARA (PEP Air) Nanaimo we were participants to this multi-agency Search operation.  We flew four separate flights, totaling almost 5 hours in the air. Great cooperation and coordination lead by Nanaimo Search and Rescue.
Nanaimo Search and Rescue

Our members were tasked shortly after 12:00 am, July 30th, to locate a missing person near Nanaimo River. Over 80 volunteer Search and Rescue members attended the task, including three swift water teams, three search dog teams, and many rope rescue technicians. It was a scorching day in the sun, and we’d like to thank our partner agencies for such professional and excellent work. Mutual aid was given by Ladysmith Search and Rescue, Cowichan Search & Rescue, Arrowsmith Search And Rescue, a Search Manager from Comox Valley Ground Search & Rescue, Extension Volunteer Fire Department‘s swift water team, PEP Air Nanaimo, and BC RCMP Police Dog Service and Drone pilot. Thank you as well to Ascent Helicopters Ltd and JSK Traffic Control Services Inc. The dedication and professionalism of these teams is a true testament to SAR in BC.
