With the New Year comes new challenges. 2020’s COVID-19 restrictions saw the Unit enter 2021 with many member’s Currency/Certification expired or about to expire. Member’s cannot, as a rule, participate in an actual Task – Search without their specialist certifications being current. We need a minimum number of members in each category; Pilots, Navigators, Spotters and Ground Homing Specialists to maintain an operational status. The training need incorporates both academic and flight components. The later requires cooperation from the weather !
With enhanced COVID protocols we are back in the air, despite the weather’s best efforts, and will be conducting additional academic training online throughout January and well into February.
