All CASARA members have to maintain continuous minimum levels of training. There are both land and air based requirements, “Currency”. These Currency requirements have to maintained on a rolling 12 month basis for each level of membership; Pilots, Navigators and Spotters, for members to be considered for operational for Task Searches.
In addition each CASARA Zone is evaluated every 18 months for operational competency. The Evals are conducted by members of the Canadian Forces and PEP Air personnel, covering every aspect of our services: Air Searches, Ground ELT Searches, Search Headquarters (SHQ) Effectiveness and last but not least Paperwork!
CASARA Nanaimo will be hosting the Vancouver Island Zone Evaluation, partnered by CASARA Victoria, over two days May 11 & 12th.
